what to expect

If you are new, here’s what you can expect on a Sunday morning at MAC.

You are WELCOME – As you walk in, you may notice the wall with this message: It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what you’ve done, what you’re like, or what your circumstances are right now, in Jesus’ name, you are welcome here! (It may sound similar to a cheesy pop song from the 90’s but it’s also true!)

What should I wear? – If you are a suit and tie person, go for it.  If you prefer jeans and a t-shirt, that’s great too.  God cares a lot more about our hearts than the clothes we wear, so come as you!

Coffee – Feel free to come early and grab a cup of coffee at the cafe (our treat!) and meet some people before the service.  You are welcome to bring your coffee into the worship service if you like.

Kids – We’ve got something awesome just for you! A worship experience designed for kids happens at the same time as the “grown-up” worship service. See the Kids page for details.

Music – We usually start off the service with a handful of worship songs where you can participate.  We have a rotation of worship teams including everyone from teens to seniors.  Usually we have a full band with drums, bass, piano, keys, acoustic guitars, electric guitars and vocals – and include worship songs by artists like Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Elevation Worship, Bethel, Hillsong, Phil Wickham and Jesus Culture to name a few.  Want to get familiar with the songs?  Check out the Music page under Resources.

Prayer – Usually a time of group prayer led by an individual, and sometimes an opportunity for individual reflective prayer.

Giving – We view giving as part of our worship.  We give because God has called us to be generous with each other out of a thankful heart because He has been ultimately generous to us.  Our giving helps fund ministries here in Morden and our workers around the world.

Message – Our aim is to teach the truth of the Bible, challenging us to live more like Jesus in our world today: loving God, loving others, taking care of those in need,  and bringing the good news of God’s love and forgiveness to the places it is needed most.

Prayer Team – After each service we have a group of volunteers that are available at the front that would love to pray with you!

Hang Out – What could be better than a coffee first thing in the morning?  More coffee!  ….and a great opportunity to get to know each other more, and find out how you can get connected in things like Life Groups.
